Superior performance DC TIG machines

Now with 2020 updates # water cooler only runs when needed # slimline modern styling.

The ETIG DC range are really simple to set up & use, anyone who has TIG welded previously can use these in seconds. Unlike competitors machines there is no programming needed or constant referring back to instruction manuals. In addition we have added some unique functions all aimed at improved welding performance for all materials. Our QPulse (high speed pulsing) function can increase welding productivity by up to 35% & therefore reduce your welding costs. OPTeARC technology gives you ultra smooth welding current output, this means a more stable weld pool & better looking welds! These machines will not fail in dirty or damp workshops like inverters do, they are not affected by fluctuations on input supply they will just keep welding reliably year after year. All ETIG models are complete with undercarriage for gas bottle & wheels so no expensive trolleys are needed.
The benefits of the OPTeARC ETIG machines really do add up, which makes these machines the perfect choice for all manual & automatic welding applications, including general fabrication, aerospace work, petrochemical, offshore, Oil & Gas, precision engineering, motorsport engineering, etc.

Key benefits of the OPTeARC ETIG machines

  • Superb welding performance both TIG & MMA with capability of all electrode types.
  • Perfect arc starts & welds every time from min to max power on both TIG & MMA.
  • Rugged reliable design unaffected by harsh operating conditions or poor input supply, guaranteed!
  • Advanced features to increase welding speed, reduce heat affected zone, increase penetration etc.
  • Ultra low power consumption reduces your running costs & helps the environment.
  • Ready to accept our EFEED 40 cold wire feeder to increase productivity further.

Standard ETIG machine functions.

  • Precise current control can be set to within +/-1 amp, digital display shows preset value then exact value when welding.
  • Variable up & down slope controls, 0-5 seconds upslope, 0-15 seconds downslope range.
  • Pulse function allows normal pulse function 0.5HZ – 200Hz or QPulse (high frequency pulsing up to 2KHZ or 2000PPS)
  • Preset exact peak & base current prior to welding.
  • Torch trigger latching 4T/2T, (when used on 4T with our OPTeARC ETIG wire feeder the trigger can control wire start/stop)
  • Variable gas preflow & gas post flow control, 0-5 seconds preflow, 0-15 seconds postflow range.
  • Electronic pulse HF for precise instant arc starts (I.T. friendly so will not affect your phone or PC etc)
  • MMA electrode welding with super smooth arc on all electrodes & will also weld cellulosics!
  • Remote current function allows use of a foot pedal or hand remote or special current control on TIG torch.
  • Automatic compensation for varying input power, long extension leads or unstable generators.
  • Water cooled versions now only run the cooling when needed-reduces noise & energy consumption.
  • Water cooled versions include torch & pump flow protection.

Further info.

The performance & reliability advantages of ETIG S models make these the sensible choice for all industrial welding applications. ETIG S models perform at least as well as the best US & EU made inverters but our technology does not suffer the reliability issues & high repair costs of inverter based machines. ETIG models are simple to maintain & fault find on, they are fitted with only one low cost control PCB, which includes LEDs allowing us to diagnose almost any fault over the telephone.

Reliability & simplicity is so important to our products so we include protection against real world conditions such as over voltage spikes, TIG torch trigger shorts to power cable or earth, HF protection of remote control circuits, short circuit protection of remote control wires, dust & damp protection & many others.

From a portability point these may not be quite as small or lightweight as an inverter but inverters are often bolted onto a trolley/cart & end up similar size to our ETIG S models. So unless you require a hand portable machine why choose an inverter?

Most ETIG S models are specified with water cooling which now only runs as needed, this reduces noise & energy & gives a significant increase in pump lifespan. Built in protection circuits stop the welding process & pump in the event of a fault. Furthermore a link is now provided to disable the water cooling to run air cooled torches.

If you choose to order the ETIG S models without water cooling we can provide an upgrade water cooling kit for fitting at a later time.

All ETIG S models come ready to accept our EFEED 40 automatic cold wire TIG feeder. This can increase productivity by at least 30% & can be used for both manual & automated welding. Non stop TIG welding, lower cost filler material, simpler one hand TIG welding.

The EFFED 40 synchronises with the ETIG to deliver the filler wire at the correct time & speed, wire start stop point can be set to allow a pool to form before feeding wire & the wire to stop feeding during a downslope period to give perfect starting & finish. In addition when the ETIG is used on pulse the wire will dab into the pool in perfect synchrony. Furthermore if manual operation is selected on the EFEED this will allow the wire to start from the same TIG torch switch. Select 4T operation on the ETIG, press switch to start weld, release to start wire, press to start down slope period, release to stop wire, this operation provides the operator with complete control of every single weld. Wire retract function can be set to pull the wire back away from the pool at the end of each weld.
