Description
Built using our unique aluminum design with ‘stack effect’ cooling means the total weight is as low as 10kgs making them truly ‘Engineer friendly‘. Even the Loadbank 1000i is easy to transport at only 23kg. No electronics are fitted in these so they can withstand more abuse & long periods at high power which makes these the preferred choice for load testing machines for faults etc. The 500i & 600i have 5 load switches the 800i & 1000i have 8 load switches. The value of each setting is selected to give good coverage of the load range of MIG, TIG & MMA power sources. Any combination of switches can be selected & when all are on the maximum amperage rating is achieved. The 1600A version is two 800A models mechanically & electrically connected to form one unit with a total of 16 load switches.
When used with a precise & accurate calibrated meter these can also be used for validation/calibration. Please also consider our Calibrator models for the fastest easiest way to calibrate welding machines, they include a fine control switch & precise digital meters to give compliance with BS EN standards & ISO standards etc.
Each of the main load switches can be operated independantly to give up to a large range of different load values. This range of load resistance allows testing on all welding processes in accordance with the volt/amp relationship formula. Every load setting is marked with the approx current rating but all will withstand high overloads as often happens during load testing of welding equipment.
These models allow load testing to the conventional load voltage/current for all welding processes as documented in IEC60974-1, MIG, MMA, TIG etc for instance MIG/MAG/GMAW U2= 14+ (0.05 I2 + 14) = V

Load bank 1600i is 2 x 800i mechanically & electrically connected to form one complete unit. Electrical ratings & size are double that of the 800i unit. Total weight 40kg.

From 2019 on all models of load bank can now be fitted with an internal shunt & volts pick up point. 4mm connectors are fitted on the front panel which allows multi-meters (volt meter) to be plugged in to read current & voltage.
This must be specified at time of order, (add to end of part number – 001AV). For instance CAL500iLB001AV
