All our OPTeCUT plasma models are built using our renowned OPTeARC hybrid chopper technology. This combines the performance advantages you get from the best inverter with the rugged reliable build of an older type machine. This gives you exceptional cutting performance & the high efficiency means less input power & more output power allowing us to push the boundary of whats normally possible on a given supply.

OPTeCUT 200 + 300 WHD have internal water cooling fitted, this brings big advantages over air cooled plasma.

Firstly with all plasma cutting machines one of the most important factors is to cool the torch & consumables. The higher the output power the more heat becomes a problem. Generally maximum output power with compressed air cooled plasma is around 130A-160A & a high volume of airflow is used to cool the torch & consumables. Duty cycles tend to be limited to maybe 40%@150A or similar, cutting torches run hot & consumable wear can be an issue.

OPTeCUT WHD models solve all these issues, liquid cooling keeps the torch & parts at a very low temperature giving your cutting tips, electrodes & torch a long lifespan, typically many times that of any air cooled plasma. In addition air flow volume is a fraction of an air cooled plasma because compressed air is only used as a cutting gas not for cooling purposes. OPTeCUT WHD models are the perfect solution for all applications requiring the highest possible cutting performance & duty cycle.

These models work superbly with just compressed air & this is recommended for almost all cutting applications. However they can also be used with nitrogen as a plasma gas, this gives improved cut quality on stainless steels, duplex etc & aluminium/alloys.

Typical applications include automated cutting tables / robotics & the heaviest duty manual applications such as foundries & metal works, recycle yards etc.

Notes; Cutting speeds are maximum values tested on steel, for optimum cut quality we suggest a small reduction in speed. For cutting aluminium speed increases a little & stainless steel reduces speed a little.

Pierce capacity is the maximum possible with automatic torch height control. Piercing of thick materials can cause considerable reflected dross back to the torch if not set up correctly. Edge starts are preferred where possible.

Sever cut capacity is the maximum material thickness possible to sever, speed is typically 50-100mm/min & is for infrequent use.
